Go Media is trying something new here. We’re using our official twitter account to offer design help and customer service. Crazy? Maybe.

Basically, designers like you can ask a question and we’ll try to answer it. It’s like having a know-it-all designer working next to you that you can bug from time to time!

We could be opening up a can of worms here, but we think it will work. I know most designers probably wouldn’t want hundreds of people asking them where the “make it cool” filter is or “How do I use Photoshop?” But we’re hoping we can actually offer some real help here. Let’s make it work!

For the future: If this works out, we plan to get some of our favorite designers to help out as well. Imagine having a network of brilliant designers there to give you tips when you need it? It could happen.

In the last two weeks we’ve released a new motion pack and two new fonts. I’m pretty excited that the new graffiti font Go Vandal comes with an exclusive vector pack to jack up the final results (yes Steve, we’re listening to your suggestions!). So for the first time in an Arsenal product, you get a true type font and also a vector pack containing each vector letter, symbol, and extra graffiti flourishes. All this adds up to a really custom graffiti lettering package. I can’t wait to see what our readers come up with over in the User Showcase!

Actually for a good example of Go Vandal in action, check out the box to the new motion pack - Animated Arrows. If pictures are worth a thousand words, then animation is…? Well just download some samples and mess around trying to recreate some MTV splash screens.

We’re really happy to announce a brand new site design to the Go Mediazine. Or should I officially say GOMEDIAZINE - all one word. Or you could spell it GOMEDIAzine or something like that. But anyway, we’re still tweaking some things and finding bugs now that people are using it. So we really encourage you to post a comment and tell us how you feel about it.

This is our second submission and it is the apparel version of one my “Concentric Series” prints. This particular design has been stolen by a couple of bands and used as cover art. There has also been a clothing line or two that has produced something similar to this design, and they are trying to cramp my style MAAAAN!!!

I figured Design by Humans would be able to do this design justice and create a really awesome shirt from it. I tweaked the design to flow over the shoulders and onto the back of the shirt. If this gets printed and does well, maybe I will submit some of the other pieces of the series.

But we need your help. We have decided to use Design by Humans to print our tees. DBH is a contest site much like Threadless, but a lot of my peers over at Emptees have had some great success with the site and their printing quality and capabilities.

The only catch is we need to get a lot of votes in order to be printed. But I am pretty confident that with all of our fans and loyal readers of this blog we can pull it off. You need to sign up and vote for the tees that you want printed and if they get enough votes, they will!

We get emails on a daily basis, no joke, about people wanting to buy the shirts on our site. We don’t advertise that they’re for sale and there is no add to cart button, but people are going out of their way to ask. And I always have had bad news to tell them that they were in fact just mockups and not available for purchase. It’s a drag.

Why use DBH? Why not print yourself?

We’ve gone back and forth with trying to find a printer that can do our designs justice and print like the mockups, but it’s been difficult. There is also a large upfront cost to printing shirts ourselves. Which is normally fine if we’re just doing some simple spot color designs on the center of the shirt. But what we want are the jumbo prints, the full color simulations, etc. It’s not easy and it’s certainly not cheap for us to print. So that’s why we’re trying out DBH. Everything I’ve heard says they can do it. So let’s find out!

I need you to get out and vote for us. Our first submission is Bold is Beautiful. This is definitely the most requested shirt on our site. We really want to have this available for people to purchase, even if it is on Design by Humans and not directly on our site. So go to the site, sign up and give us a vote if you want to see this shirt printed and hopefully on your body!
