I just found a neat site called builtwith.com. Basically, you type in a URL into their little search box and it pulls up all kinds of useful information that you don’t normally see. One of the coolest things in my opinion was that it gives you their Stats and Analytics software info. You’ll see who is using Google Analytics, Reinvigorate, etc. I found out that Technorati is using Omniture, which may be out of our league for now. Still, I hadn’t even known about it prior to this.
But anyway, try hitting up the site and searching for gomedia.us or gomediazine.com and see what we use to power our sites! You might be surprised.
It’s a good way to see what kind of technology the successful companies are using in their site. It might help you make better decisions about what software you should use for your own site. I think it’s a useful utility.
