Hi,

Here’s another n00b question: how do I use the fonts that I have downloaded in photoshop?

I know how to intstall brushes – but fonts-files are in a different format! I have tried copy-pasting too from the window they open in(!)

I sell my work online and also have to deal with people like that every day who have no idea what they’re doing and yet they buy anyway. It can be frustrating, especially if they get hostile. I believe that Windows Vista only complicated things. I often get: “The zip file is blank,” or “there’s only an empty gray box,” which is because they don’t have WinRar or another zip program that can open the file.

One of my clients decided to save his company some money by “designing” their business card himself. I was meeting with him about a different project and he was asking me if i knew much about Word, when I replied that I didn’t use Word very often, he said, “Yes, I suppose PowerPoint would be better suited for it…”

I restrained myself and politely said i would usually use Adobe Illustrator. Which he had never heard of.

Vector Packs = CLIP ART!! Perhaps throwing around that term would help users get it. (I know, I know, the word doesn’t do justice to the awesome art that you’ve created.) Just a marketing thought…

People are learning every day. Some got their start in different arenas. Personally, one of my friends was drawing (excellently, I might add) in illustrator and designing in Paint Shop Pro…6. LOL. People just start and grow from where they feel comfortable. Whether or not they will eventually feel the pinch from computer illiteracy is another story. LOL.

I’m glad that you guys wrote this article, though. Anything to help educate the masses! :)
