Layer Lifter for InDesign

Turquoise Flag-Tip

Layer Lifter is a simple, free Adobe InDesign plug-in from Rorohiko that offers an alternative method to using the layers palette for moving objects between layers.

Using it couldn’t simpler: first select one or more objects on a spread, and then right-click (Win) or control-click (Mac), and pick a destination layer from the LayerLifter context menu.

Thanks for the heads up; I'll give this a try. I'm glad it's freeware.

    Wow! Great find! You rock!

TBW, Your sentence with “Using it couldn’t simpler:” should have a “be” somewhere in there.

This plug-in is useless. InDesign does this automatically.

Click on an object, then go to your “Layers” palette. At the end of that layer that is being selected, drag the red square (in my example below) to another layer.

I actually find this useful, anything to shave some time off. Faster I can finish things, faster I get paid/get time to relax.

This seems very easy solution and let me try and feedback on this…

Indeed you can do this via the Layers panel, however for those who wanted contextual menu functionality for this would benefit from the plugin.

Just an alternate way to do the same thing for different working methods.
