About the Author, William Beachy

I grew up in Cleveland Hts. Ohio and was drawing constantly. As a child I took art classes at the Cleveland Institute of Art and eventually became known as the "class artist." I graduated from The Ohio State University's department of Industrial Design. I have always tried to blend my passion for illustration with Graphic Design. Go Media was the culmination of my interests for both business and art. I'm trying to build a company that is equally considerate of our designers AND our clients.

Other than your bit on the US government doesn’t make it easy to start a business (Studio Ace of Spade was an LLC and having an EIN in 45 minutes total, a cold afternoon of early October 2010), this is pretty great. It helps a lot to demystify the process.

I just love the nuts ‘n bolts reality of these videos. Such good motivation & reality-snapper.

These are such great videos, they really help you take a step back and look at how your manage things yourself.

I greatly appreciate the no-nonsense perspective on doing what matters to grow your business. It’s not the t-shirts, letterhead or even the legal stuff (well, that one might be important)… it’s going out and working. But I think, with that said, it might leave some of us freelancers hanging there when you say, “…it’s all about going out and getting that first client.” I’d have to guess most of us have already gone out and gotten our first, second, heck, maybe tenth client. What it’s really “all about” (for me, at least), is going out and getting the types of clients that can make your business sustainable and profitable. A daily inspiration with this type of insight and that focus could be extremely valuable to a lot of freelancers.
