The wonderful Pete Maric sent us his latest drawings and a 3D “sketch” of our new office floorplan. Again, our new building has 3 floors and this is just the 3rd floor which will be our office. The other 2 do not have any sketches yet. We’ll tackle those floors when the time comes.
But we’re stoked, you can start to see how it will look:

Companies logos are always needed for client portfolios, mock-ups or presentations. In addition to our first article about downloading logos of companies, here is a collection of 7 more logo websites. The logotypes should be manually sorted and checked. All the files are available in vector formats and most of them are totally free.

What a beautiful looking sketch. Man, it looks huge, and this is only the 3rd floor? And that thing in the middle, it looks like a bar!

That is most definately a bar, and if you’re knocking up plans for your own building you know that you would be sticking one in!
Just out of intrest, how are you going to be dealing with lighting? Someone I know is fitting the lighting in at a touch up studio in Soho and they’ve mandated a specific grey paint for walls and floors and certain wall tubed lighting to remove colour cast on monitors?
Is that something that bothers you guys?

The Avangelist - Good point. I’m not exactly sure how we’ll deal with lighting. It’s one of our concerns but we haven’t reached that point yet. But what you bring up is a good point. Do you have any other good tips?

None! I wouldn’t really know where to start, I guess part of it is down to what natural light you have I suppose, lighting is one of my sore points. I guess it’s a case of not using strip lighting or if you are using a design friendly bulb?
I know you can have fluerescent bulbs installed which are set to a ‘daylight’ temperature rather than the blue cast you get from tungsten.. I the UK I think they have now made it illegal to fit fluroescent bulbs in new office builds. Or maybe that is just strip bars.
You can get fluerecent strips which claim to never flickr and have something like a 10,000 hour life cycle.
I did a quick search and there are bucket loads of design and architect firms out there who specialise just in lighting, which is where I found the above tidbit for someone who does photographic studios.
It sounds all a bit crazy!
