Something I enjoy doing and would like to be doing more of is creating custom Wordpress themes. I wouldn’t consider myself an expert, but I have managed to create a few themes so far for a few people. The theme you’re looking at now for the Go Mediazine was my very first theme I did in 2006.
We hardly ever get requests for this type of work, so we don’t have a chance to really build up our portfolio and we’re looking for clients who need a new Wordpress theme designed and implemented. The most recent theme I designed was for mine and Kim’s wedding website. Yes the Kim that works here and answers all your Arsenal questions!

If you’re interested in hiring us to design a theme, let me know. We might be willing to cut you a deal to get more of this type of work in our portfolio.

That’s a great WP theme!
I would be interested in knowing the design/slice/coding process you go through when doing WP sites.

I might be interested in a theme or maybe two for each of my websites. The other being the newly acquired http://www.kentuckyhiker.com.

Tao - it’s just like any other XHTML page you’d make. Once it’s finished as a static XHTML page, you just plugin the Wordpress snippets where they need to be. It’s not all the hard unless you are really overhauling what a WP site can do. I’m not that far yet. But I can make a rad looking blog site!

Wow! Congratulations you two. Great looking theme Jeff. I’m in the same boat with a wordpress wedding site: http://www.thetenthofmay.com. I merely modified an existing theme, but it has been a hit. Everyone (including myself) loves the online RSVP. I specifically designed our invites to try and build a small community of family & friends (incentives for leaving comments etc.). Well I wish you two the best of luck. Feel free to sign our guestbook if you like. I’ve only got 5 weeks left!

Ben,
I like your theme! I also dig the way you encourage your friends/family to comment and all the info you have on your RSVP page.
And I also like how you went back and posted significant dates you had like movie dates and stuff. Neat!

Thanks Jeff,
We have slowly been filling in all the dates of our past events. I have the new posts section at the bottom displaying posts by id rather than date, since we are kind of doing things backwards for a blog. We plan to have this site up for a very long time.
I really like your countdown timer at the top. I’ve wanted to add something just like that, but I wasn’t sure how to go about doing so. php? javascript? Suggestions please.

I second the tutorial suggestion. I know the coding is probably pretty standard, as was pointed out, but I’m curious about the process.

I would love to talk about having my upcoming Musician/microblogging (wp 2.5 based) site designed by GoMedia. it would be a true honor if this were made possible. What would you need from me to get started on a quote?

I am looking for a wordpress re-skinning. I am a graphic design student at the University of Utah and I just finished a wordpress site for a school project on green design and I would love to make it look great but I have no idea what I’m doing with wordpress! You can check it out a http://www.thegreenbox.wordpress.com. Let me know what you think you could do.
