Inspiration

Here are some examples of vector lettering in a “candy” style. The first was a concept for Fergie and the 2nd is a concept for Paint the Stars Clothing. The Paint the Stars one is currently being sold on a hoodie in their web store. You can buy one here. The rest are other examples in this style. These are from 2006-2007.

I’m not a huge fan of these, but the way the tchnique is handled is impressive as usual :-) The volumes can be felt perfectly.

Isn’t the number of colors a problem when it comes to priting ?

I’ve always found these ones amusing, if a bit difficult to read. But for me that’s part of the fun. My favorite is the Fergie one.

Though a bit tough to read, I like the style. The first picture is the best in my opinion.

As the others have said, very hard to read. I would have never gotten the Paint The Stars one if I didn’t know what it said before hand.

    Interesting concept though.

They all look very nice, and reminds me a lot of the old “Sugarhill Gang” logo :)

hm. this is a little bit too much for me: super busy and difficult to read. although, for what it is it’s well executed.

maybe it’s a good metaphor for fergie? unable to read and kind of fat?

I would love a tutorial on your design process for the candy lettering. Its look like a complicated thing to pull off.

i love these. i want to bite in to them!

these are really cool but I sometimes find them hard to read. I have to really concentrate to make out the letters, which I think would be a disadvantage if using this type of artwork for advertising anything. But it looks so great I want to make some!
