I really like the elements separately, but combined, the themes don't coincide in my opinion. Also, as a Maylene fan, the only graphical element in this design that could somewhat represent this band... is Maybe the eagle/alligator creation, but even then... they are a southern, metal band. This design really screams experimental post-hardcore :P .. Sorry to get so specific with the subgenre, but in all honesty, Fans of these types of bands (including myself) get that picky.. Gotta still please them to get em to actually buy the shirt. I would have gone a route that really focuses on the band's "myth-like" branding. Their music focuses on telling a "Tale" of "Maylene" and her Sons of Disaster. It's kind of a self-created southern "Folk Tale." It makes them feel... Legendary... by creating their own story or what could also be described as "Mythology." Wow, I wrote a lot. You are a great designer though Oliver, and those elements, by themselves, are great as well. Keep it up and I hope this helps if the band ever throws (more?) business your way! It's a good way of telling whether you're getting better. And of course there are things you've made and will always love, but that's when you really hit the nail on the head.
