I've always considered that there is an importance of explaining each step as it woud be more useful for the person who is learning rather than having a killer final piece that would be just a copy of something else

At last! I was trying to write a tutorial for photoshop with that exact same method as you did, as I've always considered that there is an importance of explaining each step as it woud be more useful for the person who is learning rather than having a killer final piece that would be just a copy of something else, a piece that you won't be able to show in a portfolio as your own.
